Emergency information

Start with the official source.

This page is designed to remain readable on a weak connection. RRI may organize and repeat verified public information, but it does not dispatch help, issue evacuation orders, or replace parish, state, weather, fire, law-enforcement, or medical authorities.

For immediate danger or a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

RRILA.com is not monitored as an emergency hotline. Do not use a website form or email when immediate assistance is needed.

How emergency mode works

Fast information, strict labels.

RRI’s emergency mode can place a verified bulletin above the normal site navigation and prioritize shelter, cooling, distribution, road, or resource information.

Source

The responsible agency or organization must be named and linked when possible.

Verified at

Every bulletin shows when RRI last checked the source, in Central Time.

Next update

A bulletin states when RRI expects to review it again. If that time passes, the item should be marked stale rather than silently left active.

Activation authority

Emergency mode is controlled, not crowdsourced.

Only an RRI officer or an emergency editor designated in writing by RRI’s officers may activate, materially change, or deactivate emergency mode. The person publishing must record the source, verification method, change history, and expected next review. RRI summaries must remain visually distinct from official instructions.
